288 HSL ( Heng Shan Lu ) Melting Pot bar and restaurant presents the debut of Ronnie Williams and K.O.S. featuring Lucius Clark and his urban soul.

OBJECTIVE
The month of December 2008 is the important for Thai people. We will celebrate the occasion of His Majesty King Bhumiphol Adulyadej (Rama IX)’s getting over his fever returned to normal at times after his December 5 birthday. Every single Thai person would gladly celebrate this occasion. There will be an official celebration in every where in Thailand and especially here in Shanghai.

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is very well respected by his subjects as well as being a very talented musician, composer, arranger, and performer. He also excels in other art forms as is evident in his photography, painting and sculpture. Therefore, we would like to celebrate His Majesty King Bhumiphol by performing his beautiful music and share our happiness with the people of Shanghai . We hope this presentation wills strengthen our bond between Thailand and Chinese.

His Majesty the King's accomplishments in music are well known, not only to his Thai subject, but also to lovers of music worldwide. He is one of Thailand's best jazz musicians. He has composed 43 musical works which rank among the most well known in the history of Thai contemporary music. He has shared his musical interests with varied groups of musicians and member of the general public. His achievements in music have been internationally recognized, and has been presented with the highest accolades both in Thailand and abroad.

对于泰国人民来说，每年的十二月都是至关重要的月份，因为在这个月的5号，全国上下都会为他们敬爱的国王陛下庆祝生日。
这一天，泰国各地都会举行隆重而热烈的庆祝活动，当然也包括在海外尤其是像在上海这样的大都会举办的纪念活动。
普密蓬·阿杜德陛下不仅是一位令人敬仰的国王，同时也是位伟大而富有天赋的音乐家，精于作曲及演奏。此外，他还在摄影、绘画以及雕刻等其它艺术门类中造诣颇深。
因此今天我们希望通过演奏国王陛下所创作的经典而优美的音乐作品来庆祝他的生辰，同时也希望通过我们的演出将这份欢乐之情传递给在座的每一位上海朋友并以此增进泰中两国传统的友谊。
国王陛下因其在音乐领域的造诣而深受泰国以及世界各地爱好音乐人士的热爱。他是泰国最伟大的爵士音乐家，所创作的43首作品名垂泰国近代音乐史。

What actually is H.M Blues
It’s “Hungry Men’s Blues”
To celebrate His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 20th birthday anniversary, government officials, students and Thai people in Switzerland jointly organized a multi-day festival, starting from December 6, 1947 (BE 2490). During the festival, lotteries were issued to collect fund for assisting the poor. In addition, a riddle game asking people to give the correct full version of the abbreviated terms of the song “H.M. Blues” was also arranged. A player was to buy one or more pieces of blank paper at half a Franc each in which the guessed full version of H.M Blues was written. During a reception party and while the musical band continued with their music to keep the dancers on the floor non-stop, H.R.H. Prince Chakrabandh Pensiri Chakrabandh was requested to sing the English version translated by him from a song newly composed by His Majesty the King. Part of the wordings of the song read: “You will be hungry too if you’re in this band…….You’ve eaten now all of you. We’d like to eat with you too. That’s why we got the H.M Blues.” This was a hint on the actual meaning of the song H.M.Blues, which is “Hungry Men’s Blues” and not “His Majesty’s Blues” as most people thought it was. None of the riddle game players was found guessing it right.

It’s the fifth song composed by His Majesty the King
The English name of this fifth song composed by His Majesty the King after his accession to the throne in 1947 was given by H.R.H. Prince Chakrabandh Pensiri Chakrabandh through a request of His Majesty the King before his return to school in Switzerland.

It’s His Majesty’s Blues
The name of this song has led to the general understanding that it means His Majesty’s Blues or one among several blues-style songs composed by His Majesty the King, the first one of which was the Candlelight Blues composed since when he was still the younger royal brother to King Rama the Eighth.

The Working Group therefore named this project as the “H.M Blues Project” under the intended meaning of “His Majesty’s Blues”.

Since this song was named with His Majesty’s intention to collect fund for helping the poor from guessing of its real meaning, the Working Group, through its sensing of His Majesty‘s intellectual behind the naming of the song, has agreed to also use it as the Project’s name. This has made it more convenient for everybody to not only remember its name but also to understand its origin. Besides, the English name also helps expand its popularity worldwide.

H.M. BLUES 的含义

是“饥饿者的布鲁斯”

1947年的12月6日，值泰国国王普密蓬·阿杜德陛下20周年诞辰之际，驻瑞士的所有泰国政府官员、留学生及泰国人民聚在一起，举行了盛大的庆祝活动。活动期间，还通过开展福利彩票的发行为穷人募集资金。除此以外，还进行了个竞猜游戏，让大家竞猜国王的新歌H.M. BLUES中的H.M.来自于哪两个英文字母的缩写。参与竞猜的人必须以半法朗的价格购买一张纸并写上答案。

乐队的演奏使得整个庆祝活动气氛高涨。H.R.H. Prince Chakrabandh Pensiri Chakrabandh 被邀请上台演唱这首由其亲自作词（英文）并由国王普密蓬·阿杜德陛下谱曲的H.M. BLUES，歌词大意为：“如果你在演唱你会感觉非常饥饿……而在台下听音乐的你们都已经吃饱喝足……”，原来，歌名H.M. BLUES中的H.M.来自Hungry Men’s 的缩写，为“饥饿者的布鲁斯”（Hungry Men’s Blues）, 而并非大部分人所认为的 “国王的布鲁斯”（His Majesty’s Blues）。结果，没有一个人能猜到正确答案。

是国王写的第五首歌

本首歌是国王普密蓬·阿杜德陛下在1947年登基后写的第五首歌，并在他回瑞士继续学业前让H.R.H. Prince Chakrabandh Pensiri Chakrabandh为此首歌作了英语歌词。

“国王的布鲁斯”

H.M. BLUES还有另外一个含义，也就是大家所理解的“国王的布鲁斯”，因为这首歌来自于普密蓬·阿杜德陛下所写的众多布鲁斯歌曲。第一首出自于普密蓬·阿杜德陛下的布鲁斯歌曲叫 “烛光”，写那歌的时候，还是普密蓬·阿杜德陛下的哥哥八世王在位期间。所以，参与这个慈善计划的工作团队把这个计划取名为“H.M. BLUES PROJECT”，以告诉大家，这就是“国王的布鲁斯”。

正是普密蓬·阿杜德陛下想出以猜歌名的方式来为穷人募集资金，国王的善心善举让工作团队由衷地为他的胸怀所折服，并深深体会到了其蕴含的意义。于是一致同意把H.M. BLUES这首歌名作为慈善计划的名字，为了容易叫唤也为了让大家更深刻理解举办慈善活动的目的，同时也为了更好的向世界宣传。
